马斯克致力发展航天技术把人类送上火星，而他在最近回复网民发言时指，要在这个世界上肯定会发展出名为“火星币” (Marscoin) 的加密货币。
事源马斯克 (Elon Musk) 早前曾说“狗狗币被低估了”而引发该加密货币狂升。不过他也同时在Twitter表示对于狗狗币 (Dogecoin) 持有者过度集中的现象感到不满，呼吁大户将持有的狗狗币发布，否则将不再支持。有网友建议为“补贴”大户因为放弃持有狗狗币带来的损失，发展一种名为“ElonCoin”的新款加密货币，让大户可比以前更富有。对上述留言，马斯克称如果有必要的话将会考虑。随后币安首席执行官赵长鹏加入讨论：“这很有必要，我们可以叫称它为火星币 (Marscoin) ”。马斯克回应指：“绝对会有火星币(Marscoin) ！”
